Who does what

Our care, alongside their hospice team.

Caring Corner does not provide hospice medical care itself. We provide the home and the daily care, and we work alongside the licensed hospice provider that cares for your loved one.

Caring Corner provides

  • A comfortable room in a warm, small home
  • Home-style meals, with help at mealtimes
  • Help with bathing, dressing and personal care
  • Assistance with prescribed medications
  • Caregivers awake 24/7
  • Family visits during our established visiting hours

Your loved one’s hospice provider

A separate, licensed hospice agency. Hospice teams typically provide:

  • Visits from hospice nurses and aides
  • Medical care focused on comfort and symptom relief
  • Medications, equipment and supplies related to the hospice diagnosis
  • Emotional and spiritual support for your loved one and family

Services vary by provider, so ask the hospice team what’s included.

Our hospice waiver

What our hospice waiver means for your family.

In California, a care home needs an approved hospice waiver before it can care for residents who are receiving hospice. Caring Corner’s waiver covers all six residents.

This means a resident who begins hospice care may be able to remain in the home they know, rather than moving at a difficult time. If your loved one is already receiving hospice, please contact us: we review each person’s needs before admission. Admission and continued residency depend on individual care needs and our ability to meet them.

Hospice services are generally covered by the Medicare hospice benefit or other coverage. That benefit generally doesn’t cover room and board in a care home, so living at Caring Corner is paid for separately. Call us to talk about rates.

Can my loved one stay at Caring Corner while on hospice?

Our approved hospice waiver covers all six residents, so residents receiving hospice care can live here. Admission and continued residency depend on each person’s care needs and our ability to meet them.

Does Caring Corner provide the hospice care?

No. Hospice medical care comes from a licensed hospice provider. Caring Corner provides the home and daily residential care, and we work alongside your loved one’s hospice team.
